Online Conference on Geotechnical Engineering Education, GEE 2020, June 23-25

The first online (for-a-fee) international conference on Geotechnical Engineering Education, GEE 2020, will take place on June 23-25, 2020, under the auspices of NTUA’s School of Civil Engineering, the Hellenic and the International Societies for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering, and the City of Athens.

The conference brings together education researchers and geotechnical engineering professors, researchers and practitioners. The design of the conference was guided by the following objectives:

1) to promote adoption of results from research on education in engineering instruction;

2) to disseminate educational collaborations between engineering schools and engineering consulting firms;

3) to sponsor the training of young engineering academics in evidenced-based practices for effective teaching;

4) to stimulate future activities and collaborations in support of geotechnical engineering education, with the help of two panel discussions at the end of the day on June 24 and 25.

To maximize the impact of GEE 2020, attendance of the and of on June 25 is open, without requiring conference registration.

Initially planned to take place at the Acropolis Museum on the same days, the conference was redesigned to its online version during March and April 2020.
