The National Technical University of Athens assumes first place in the official ranking of the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education
The National Technical University of Athens assumes first place for a second year in a row amongst Greek Higher Educational Institutions based on the quality criteria set by the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education . This results from the ranking of institutions for 2024, which is published annually by the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education regarding the financing of Greek Higher Educational InstitutionsNTUA consolidates its first place by confirming the high-quality standards that characterize Greece’s leading technological institution as a symbol of education, research and academic excellence and further reaffirm the institution’s commitment to further grow and contribute to the country and Greek society.
The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, The Harokopio University and the Athens University of Economics and Business follow in the top 5 rankings.
The continuous improvement of the quality criteria regarding the connection with society, the labor market and the utilization of the knowledge produced, through targeted activity and in particular the Technology Transfer Office and the Training and Lifelong Learning Center, played an important role in confirming NTUA’s first place in the ranking of Greek universities for 2024
In addition, the NTUA continues to maintain its leadership position in the criteria related to research activity, research excellence and performance of scientific staff, a position it has maintained in recent years due to the excellent research output of the institution's researchers combined with the funding acquired through competitive research programs at national and European level.
The confirmation from the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education comes for the National Technical University of Athens, after the institution's international distinctions both in the QS World University Rankings 2025 according to which the NTUA is ranked 1st in Greece and 321st in the world, while at the same time occupying enviable positions in global rankings, in individual criteria such as references per member of teaching and research staff (#132) and in the international recognition of the university itself (#204).
