Establishment of the NTUA Circular Economy and Sustainability Institute

The Senate of NTUA approved at its meeting of 08/04/2025 (4th/2025), the establishment of the Institute for Circular Economy and Sustainability which will operate under the University’s Center for Research and Innovation.

 

The newly established Institute aims to promote research and innovation in the fields of sustainable development and the circular economy, strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration and the development of innovative solutions for sustainable resource management and infrastructure resilience.

 

The Institute has the following strategic goals

  • Promoting research and innovation in the fields of circular economy and sustainability.
  • Collaboration with industry and other businesses for the implementation of green technologies.
  • Strengthening education through training actions and scientific initiatives.
  • Networking at national and international level for the transfer of know-how, utilizing funding and research programs.

 

The establishment of the Institute is part of NTUA's strategy to strengthen research and innovation, aiming to develop into a reference point of excellence in the field of sustainable development. Through collaborations with research centers, organizations, and public entities, it aspires to play a leading role in the transition to a sustainable and resilient future.
