Delegation Visit of Columbia University at the National Technical University of Athens
A delegation from Columbia University, led by Shih-Fu Chang, Dean of Engineering and Applied Science, accompanied by Georgios Deodatis, Vice Dean for Research at the School of Engineering and Applied Science and Keely Henderson, Vice Dean of Development and Alumni Relations, visited the facilities of the National Technical University of Athens.
The delegation of Columbia University was welcomed by the NTUA Rector, Professor Ioannis Chatzigeorgiou and attendees also included the following:
- Panagiotis Psarrakos, Vice Chancellor for Administrative and Student Affairs
- Emmanuel Varvarigos, Vice Chancellor Research, Innovation and Extroversion
- Nikolaos Logaras, Vice Chancellor Finances, Ιnfrastructure and Development
- Athanasios Zisis, Vice Chancellor Academic Affairs and Life Long Learning Center
- Maria Vardaki, Executive Director
The meeting aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two leading educational institutions and promoting joint initiatives in the fields of research, education and innovation. Particular emphasis was placed on the implementation of the Cooperation Agreement( Memorandum of Understanding) signed between Columbia University and NTUA. The parties exchanged views on expanding their cooperation, discussing in particular the promotion of joint research programs, student and academic exchange initiatives, as well as the organization of international scientific events.
The visit concluded in an excellent atmosphere, confirming the strong commitment of the two leading institutions to develop a strong collaboration promoting scientific excellence and extroversion.
